October Books.
More than just a bookshop, we’re local, radical and eco-friendly!
We host a wide range of events every month in the shop and Community Space. These include our own events, such as author talks, books launches and signings, and external events hosted by others.
For our one off events please browse below and register for tickets.
Popular demand has seen the return of these ‘We can…’ workshops. Click the poster below to book tickets.
These workshops follow the very popular ‘We can learn to …’ series we put on at the beginning of the year. These sessions are diverse opportunities to make gifts (for friends, family, and even ourselves), start up new interests, reduce our environmental impact by making rather than buying and connect with others in our local community in the colder months.
Tickets for these events can also be a gift for a friend.
All the workshops are led by friends of the shop.

MAKE A BIRD BOX - Simon Fitzjohn
Bring all the family to try something new this November … learn now to build a bird box! A fun activity for all ages, a bit of carpentry on a Saturday might be just what you needed. It’s what our feathered friends need too!
All wood pieces will be pre-cut and marked. Hammers will be provided to knock in a few nails. Additional assistance will be available from Simon.
