We are so happy to partner with the Widening Participation team at the University of Southampton, on their Reading Buddies, Books and Stories, and Shapes and Numbers schemes and enjoyed attending this year’s graduation for the pupils.
Jack and Suzanne were delighted to host the inaugural ‘Southampton Primary Reading Alliance’ meeting this month. The Alliance’s mission is to get the city's children enthused and engaged with reading for pleasure, beyond what is already happening so well in local schools.
It was a joy to be invited to this year’s reading festival at the brilliant Weston Secondary School. The enthusiasm of the students was unparalleled, and their joy at getting to buy books was amazing.
Recently we had the Reading Ambassadors from Sinclair Primary and Nursery School with us. This is the poem they wrote when they were with us, we thought you would enjoy it.
A mountain of boxes descended on the shop recently, with over 3000 books ready to be sorted. These books have been donated by us free to local schools as we are passionate about inspiring children in the wonder of reading.
