Announcement! Necessity Funding Opportunities

Announcement! Necessity Funding Opportunities

Great News! We have just been awarded £5k from the Necessity Network to curate a programme of activities around radical themes. Starting in the Spring of 2022 we will explore three themes: the Climate Emergency, Race and Inclusion, and Radical Natural History.  We want to involve as many people as possible in co-creating these events in order to help develop the responses to the themes. The idea is that through conversations with our members, volunteers, organisations, and other groups that we work with, we will co-create a series of workshops, conversations, film nights, and other creative events around these themes. In addition, we will be seeking individual responses and in the Spring we will be putting out a call out to local artists, authors, poets and creatives to apply for funding to create pieces that respond to what emerges through the events.

We are excited to be working with Necessity; a living archive rooted in social and environmental justice; a development platform gathering information and investigating pressing emerging issues and a site for experiments encouraging honesty about failure as well as success. Necessity are also partnered with Pluto Press through their Radical Reading rooms project.

Watch this space for information on events and call outs about commissions. Please do contact Clare or Suzanne at the shop if you would like any more information.
