Bethan Evans will be joining us in the shop to sign copies of her debut Young Adult novel - 'Necropolis'!

Set in a not-too-distant dystopian future, 16 year old Wyn battles against an oppressive society that restricts the freedom of women. Seeking excitement and opportunity she decides to prove her mental and physical strength by joining the army cadets - undercover! This is a story about defying restrictions and pushing yourself to achieve your goals, about finding inner strength and seeing challenges as opportunities. Can Wyn achieve her goal and prove societal oppression wrong, or will she crumble under the pressure? Only one way to find out!

Bethan is a YA author born in Wales and based in the South of England. Necropolis is her debut novel. She draws inspiration from experience working in health and social care as well as in the academy for the local fire service, where she assisted with training scenarios; often as a casualty being cut out of cars or doing special effects make-up. An advocate for mental health, Bethan hopes, in the future, to use her writing to help others, reduce the stigma around mental illness and normalise conversation around mental health.

Please register via Eventbrite if you wish to attend so we can manage numbers on the shop floor.

This is a free entry event, but if you'd like to sling October Books a donation, please do.

If you’d like to purchase or reserve a copy of ‘Necropolis’ in advance of the booksigning to collect on the day email us at info@octoberbooks.org
