Guess who's on the Community Business Trade Up programme?

We are really excited to announce that Clare, a key member of our team, has been awarded a place on The Community Business Trade Up programme, run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) in partnership with Power to Change.

The programme supports people improving their local communities through trade and Clare will participate in a competitive learning programme and be awarded a grant of up to £10,000.

Through the programme Clare would like to get creative in the use of our community space, looking at how the space might be used as we emerge from the Covid-19 crisis. She would also like to explore longer term plans to engage and improve participation from a wider range of community groups, creating a vibrant, safe and resilient community space into the future.

‘I am delighted to have been accepted onto the Community Business Trade Up Programme, run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs, in partnership with Power to Change.’ said Clare ‘ We really need to make sure that our community business, and others, comes through this crisis with positive and creative plans for the future. The programme will help to make sure we can do that at October Books and share what we learn with others’.

If you would like to be involved in co-creating plans for the community space please do drop her a line at clare@octoberbooks.org and she will get back to you.

Go Clare!!!
