Love October Books? Want to get involved but work 9-5?

Could you be part of our volunteer events team?

October Books hosts lots of evening events and we’d love people to help out with them. We are also regularly asked to hold book stalls at events throughout the city and to do this need support from volunteers

What would being part of the events team involve?

In shop events team:

Jobs include:
- Arriving early to helping to set up and clear away chairs, tables, bookshelves and projectors as appropriate
- Greeting people as they come in
- Ticking people off on sign up sheets and directing them to the event
- Setting up teas and coffees as appropriate & washing up as needed
- Selling books on the till
- Oh and you get to enjoy the event as well

Outreach events team:

Jobs include:
- Transporting books to and from events
- Setting up the stall to look visually pleasing
- Representing October Books to the public and talking about what we do
- Encouraging people to sign up to our mailinglist, join as members
- Promoting the events we have in the shop
- Selling books to the public
